Committees

Please feel free to volunteer for any of the TUNA committees! The current sub-committee structure is:

1. Club Ski Trails Operation: Chris Magerl - Plan, design and schedule grooming of the Mountain Dell cross-country ski trail system. Create and print trail maps. Organize and display signs and information at the trailhead and along the trail. Determine trail pass fee and donation structure. Schedule greeters to collect fees on weekends. Propose a budget at the July Board meeting. Report on the year-end budget at the May Board meeting.

2. Adult Conditioning Programs: Competition: TBD; Recreational: Janet Myshral (435-658-5130 or janmysh [at] gmail [dot] com) and Laurie Humbert (801-485-7309 or laurie_humbert [at] yahoo [dot] com) - Plan, design and schedule the summer and fall organized adult group-training activities. Train and educate coaches. Propose a budget at the July Board meeting. Report on the year-end budget at the May Board meeting.

3. Junior Programs: Eric Swanson - Be the main interface between coaches and the Board. Help the coaches plan, design and schedule the summer, fall and winter organized group-training activities, as well as trips to out-of-state races. Propose a budget at the July Board meeting. Report on the year-end budget at the May Board meeting. Coaching is under the direction of Steve Cook.

4. Competition/Event Organization: Richard Hodges and Dave Hanscom - Schedule and organize TUNA sponsored competitions and races (Wasatch Citizens Series, White Pine/TUNA Relay, TUNA Mountain Challenge). Create a competition committee and race organization. Train and educate race officials. Propose a budget at the July Board meeting. Report on the year-end budget at the May Board meeting.

5. YURT Operations: Greg Adams - Maintain and operate the YURT. Organize maintenance weekends. Create a fee structure for the winter rentals and be responsible for all fees collected. Maintain a good relationship with the Forest Service. Propose a YURT budget at the July Board meeting. Distribute a YURT rental list and a financial report at the at the May Board meeting.

6. Membership Coordination: Don Eggert - Maintain a membership database. Organize membership drives. Create and propose a membership fee structure as needed. Distribute reminders/mailers to membership when needed. Propose a budget at the July Board meeting. Distribute a membership list and give a report at the May Board meeting.

7. Publications: Jan Santoro - Create, edit and distribute the monthly newsletter. Coordinate activities and articles published on the TUNA web page. Find potential advertisers and create an advertisement fee. Coordinate and schedule newsletter and web articles with the pool of authors. Propose a newsletter budget at the July Board meeting. Report on the Newsletter finances at the May Board meeting.

8. Fund Raising And Marketing: Derek Hoff - Propose and implement new ideas for fund raising. Implement ideas for increasing membership and interest in cross-country skiing. Report on fund raising and marketing plans at July Board meeting. Report on the year-end budget at the May Board meeting

9. Social activities: Donna Stice - Be responsible for the organization of Salmon Bake, Summer Party, Thanksgiving dinner at West Yellowstone, and TUNA family tours. Propose a budget at the July Board meeting. Report on the year-end budget at the May Board meeting.
