It is Time to Grill Salmon!
It is time to start thinking about the annual Salmon Bake and Silent Auction. This year, the Bake will be held Friday, May 12th. We will return to Sugarhouse Park Rose Garden building again this year. It is a great location with outdoor play space and indoor space for the silent auction and socializing in case of inclement weather. Bring your outdoor toys as May holds promise for a longer and warmer evening. The silent auction and appetizers will begin at 5 pm and dinner will be served at 7 pm.
Our entertainment will be the River House band. They will play during the silent auction, so come early make some bids, dance, then check your bids before dinner. River House is a country blues, classic and southern rock band performing material spanning the decades from the 1930's to the present. TUNA’s own Patrick McEwen is a member and leader of the band. You can go to the band’s web site to hear music and for downloads. www.riverhouseband.com
Save a few bucks and help give Donna an idea of how many to expect by purchasing your ticket in advance on line at the TUNA Store or at Wild Rose, Wasatch Touring, or White Pine Touring. Advance tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children under 12. At the door, tickets will be $25 for adults and $15 for children. We try to cover the food expenses with ticket sales, so that all profits from the silent auction can go to our Junior programs. If you have any auction items, please contact Steve Cook, TUNA Head Coach at slcskier [at] gmail [dot] com Please be generous with your bids in the auction. Yes, we have a fun evening, but it really is about the kids!
Volunteers are especially important in making this event a success. Some specific needs are organizing appetizers, baking cookies, baking potatoes, prepping salad ingredients, setting up tables and chairs, picking up grills, grilling salmon, clean up and more. Please contact Donna by cell: 435-729-0115 to volunteer. Or by e-mail dwstice [at] gmail [dot] com
I look forward to seeing you as we put the winter wax on our skies and consider how to maintain our fitness for the season to come. - - - Donna Wahoff-Stice
