What could be better than travelling to the home of nordic skiing to experience the thrill of racing, the beauty of Norway, and the warmth of Scandanavian hospitality and culture???
Going with John Aalberg and the rest of your TUNA friends and training partners!!!
This notice is to gauge TUNA members' interest in travelling as a group to the Masters World Championships in Lillehammer, Norway, to be held between February 27th and March 6th, 2004.
If there is enough interest among club members, we would like to organize a TUNA trip to the games, possibly followed by some time after the event to spend in a more leisurely exploration of other areas of Norway such as Oslo and Trondheim, accompanied by John Aalberg acting as our "inside line" to the country.
You can check the website for the World Masters Championships or for the event schedule and to get an idea of room types and rates that are available.
There are a number of potential travel options (such as race only, post-race tour only, race + tour), which we will explore once we know the level of interest in the trip.
If you would like to recieve further information on this adventure, please reply to: norway2004@utahnordic.com We will start a separate email list for those who are interested in the trip, and will be sending out a questionaire to those who respond to this email to get a feel for people's schedules, travel plans, lodging preferences, etc.
The level of organization and accomodations will depend on peoples' interests, schedules and budgets, but we are shooting more for travel as a group of friends, rather than a formal "guided tour." Costs and luxuries will also depend on people's interests and preferences, but we are aiming more for "Toyota Camry" than "Lincoln Navigator" (but not "Yugo"!)
