Objectives: To introduce young skiers to a life time sport to develop a lifelong interest in skiing. . Cross Country Skiing is a great break from other year round sports both mentally and physically (more information on overtraining youth). The emphasis for this scale ski youth program will be FUN. Technique, drills, and games designed to develop skiing skills, will be used to introduce kids to cross country skiing. The objective is to develop a lifelong interest in skiing. Parents are welcome to participate or to ski during the program.

Dates and Time: Every Wednesday January 2nd thru March 6th. The Weds. sessions start at 3:45pm and last about 1 hour and three Saturday events TBA

Ages: 7 to 12 year olds.

Equipment: Each participant will need an adequate pair of no-wax fishscale touring skis, ski boots, and poles. Scale skis and boots Price between $100.00 and $150.00. Warm clothing, including HATS (very important!) and good warm gloves is a must (temperatures on January evenings can be below zero degrees).

Format: Assign skiers to a coach to learn classic skiing basics, play games, ski up and down hills, and most importantly have fun.
