ADULT SESSIONS. TUNA offers adult clinics on Tuesday afternoons for parents of Junior Program skiers and other interested adults. We anticipate beginner and intermediate groups. Sessions will be held at Mountain Dell from 4:45 to 5:45, beginning January 1 and continuing through March 11. There is an optional, non-teaching session on March 11 in conjunction with the juniors' season-ending party.
Goal: To form a training group for skiers that either want to improve their racing results and/or for established skiers that just want to improve their skiing in general! Having a training group will not only motivate everyone to train effectively, but more importantly, it will help to create a social network of skiers that are working to achieve common goals for the season: one of which is to HAVE FUN ski training!
How: The training sessions will focus on the following: Improving fitness, technique, transition work, waxing, race strategy, etc. Each session will include a warm-up, a technique goal, ski specific strength drills, interval session or Wild Rose Fun race, followed by a specific technique and/or speed drill, warm-down. The Wild Rose Fun race series will be run for 4 sessions out of the 9. The races will be perfect simulations for learning how to prepare and race effectively as well as accelerate fitness levels.
Training program designed to provide athletic development and cross training for junior athletes age 13 to 19. Have a ton of fun while participating in a ski based, fast paced, rigorous off season training program designed to develop broad skills and fitness systems necessary to compete at higher levels in other sports. Approximately 35% of the program time is spent with skis off performing physically challenging drills and exercises to develop speed, strength, balance and general fitness. For skiers with refined intermediate to advanced skills in both classic and skate techniques.
