TUNA U14/U16/U18 Dryland Training
The Fall TUNA Comp Ski Team is a program designed for competition preparation from the beginning of September until the winter season begins in late November. Dryland training sessions are aimed primarily at 14-19 year old TUNA junior skiers (U14/U16/U18 age groups) and will be held at various local training venues in the Salt Lake valley and Park City area beginning Monday Aug. 28, 2017.
The training program is designed to help athletes have fun, stay fit, and prepare for the upcoming cross country ski season. Young skiers interested in joining the TUNA U14/U16/U18 Comp Team are strongly encouraged to participate. Training sessions are generally scheduled six days per week, meeting from 4:00 – 6:00pm Mon-Fri and 8:00am Saturday. Please consult the Comp Training Calendar for specific workout times and locations. The Comp training schedule is designed specifically for full-time athletes with individualized training plans and workouts that fit into a larger training framework based on monthly training cycles, specific race preparation, and yearly training hour goals. Part-time athletes should discuss training goals and other obligations with the Head Coach to ensure that they are getting the most out of our specific and individually targeted training as well.
Athletes over the age of 19 interested in training competitively are encouraged to contact Steve Cook as well- there is a good chance this program could fit your training needs as well!
Young athletes are welcome to enter the program at any point in the fall. Kids joining our training groups later in the fall (mid-session) must contact coaches to obtain updated program information and training venue location.
