Online Registration Process

This year, we are making it possible for you to register yourself and your family members for TUNA programs online. When you register online, you don't need to complete paper forms, but you do need to complete and sign all waivers at registration. Also, while you can pay for the programs in advance with a credit card in the online store, you should still bring a checkbook to pay for equipment rental and deposits as needed on November 14. Instructions for registering online are as follows:

1. Log in to the TUNA website. If you can't remember your password, use the 'Request new password' link on the home page. If you don't have an account, use the 'Create new account' link

2. If you have not renewed your membership for the 2009-2010 season, visit www.utahnordic.com/membership and add either an individual or family membership to your cart so that your membership is up to date

3. See all available TUNA programs at www.utahnordic.com/programs. Find the program that you want to register for, then click the "add to cart" button

4. Fill out the registration form as prompted, then click the "add to cart" button at the bottom of the form

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for each person you are registering

6. Complete the checkout process: click the 'Checkout' button, choose a payment method (check, credit card, or Pay Pal). Click 'review order', review carefully, then click 'Submit order'. If you selected pay by check, don't mail your check - just bring it with you to registration.

7. Click the "View your current order status" link, then click the 'Click to open a window with a printable invoice' link and print a copy of your invoice. Bring you invoice with you to registration. You can return to your order again by going to 'My account > Orders'

8. Download the TUNA Liability Waiver, print and complete for each participant. Bring these forms with you to registration along with your invoice:

  • a check to pay for equipment rental and/or deposits as required

Equipment and uniforms
TUNA equipment and uniforms are not available for Learn to Ski program participants. Children should be dressed for winter play including hats and warm gloves appropriate for the temperature of the day. Children also need to bring their own ski equipment. No-wax skis with boots, bindings and poles are recommended. Please avoid using strap-on skis. Half-price rentals are available at Wild Rose Mountain Sports (702 Third Avenue) on a first come, first serve basis.

Salt Lake Nordic Ski Team

The Salt Lake Nordic Ski Team includes Youth League and Touring Group programs for juniors 8-19 years old, who want to ski 1 or 2 days a week. Youth League programs emphasize fun, teaching ski skills, and developing a life long interest in x-c skiing. Touring group programs emphasize exploring off trail areas and may include some weekend tours in the Wasatch.

Skiers should be proficient in both classic and skating techniques.

Competition Team - J2 J1 OJ
This program is open to all motivated skiers who want to improve skiing technique and train at a higher level. The competition group will take part in some weekend activities such as special clinics, and participate in local and regional races.

Mountain Dell Greeting and TUNA Jr Comp and Comp Team Parents
This year participation in any Comp or Jr. Comp program, in addition to program fees, will require one parent day per child to be spent as a TUNA volunteer greeter at Mtn. Dell. Responsibilities of the parent greeter will be limited to weekends and holiday periods. An additional check for $250 will be required of each skier. The check will be held, but not deposited and be returned after fulfillment of parent greeter requirements.
