Got here Friday night. Skied 2.5 hrs, mostly on Whiskey Trail on Plateau today. You can read the West grooming report for today, I believe it is a little overstated. I would rate the Plateau a 3 out of 10 today, classic was not possible in the tracks. There is about 3-4 inches ungroomed on the side of the trail up there, compacted with snowmobiles you are typically skiing on less than one inch of cover. Temps are warm up there, I skied from ~12:30 until 3pm today and it was 40 degrees at my car when finished. It snowed on and off during the ski, but with the higher temps I think the day was a net loss for snow accumulation. It is getting pretty dirty on the surface with wear on the crown of the trail starting to show the brown surface below. Lots of trees/branches poking through the surface as well. Given the 10 day forecast, it is going to be hard to hold races even up here on the plateau. I only saw about 10 other people out there skiing today. Skiing will not take place in town this week at all. At this point it would take a miracle(12" snowfall) to groom the rendezvous trails. I brought roller skis this year, but in town it has been raining most of the day. Watch the daily weather and trail updates, and think clearly before making the drive up here. Easily the leanest conditions in 10 years up here for Thanksgiving. Even 5 years ago when we had to spend the entire week up on the plateau, there was much greater snow accumulation up there. Sorry for the sobering news.
